In this tutorial, we will be demonstrating how to deploy Internet Explorer 11 to your machines using Goverlan Scope Actions.
If you have never created a Scope Action before, please refer to the below video and the Scope Action Creation Basics article for more information.
Information
Internet Explorer 11 comes pre-built into Windows 10 and 8.1. For Windows 8 users, you must update to Windows 8.1 in order to get IE 11. For Windows 7, you must download the IE 11 EXE file via the Microsoft Site.
Step 1
After selecting your Scope of machines as described in the above video, you will need to create an Action Module with the following Action: Execute Computer Action > Software Products > Install Software Package.
The Set Arguments window will appear, click on the ‘…’ button > Manage.
You’ll then arrive at the Goverlan Objects Manager, proceed to click on the + button > Setup Executable Package.
Refer to the below screenshot for package configuration.
After configuring your package and exiting the Goverlan Package Manager, it’ll now appear in the Installation package list for you to select:

After the scope action has been completed and the machines have been rebooted, confirm that the IE version has changed via the System Information tool in the Administration & Diagnostics module:
